my humble wedding prep. a year ago.

Assalamualaikum wrt .. :)

VOLUME 1

when it comes to wedding planning, everyone sure be thinking of a very outstanding, luxurious and happening event, that i cannot be sure that im the right person to talk about this. my wedding was very very simple and i feel so small among people around me. however, to me its still beautiful. i tremendously wanted to relive the moment when i lawfully got hitched. i still can remember the moment when faris read the ijab kabul thing, and read the addendum words(taklik). i was touched and cried :') and of course the event through out the day. dusk to dusk... i miss.

1)  when we agreed to get married (that was when we were still in russia doing long distance meeting and preparation with the families hehe), the first thing we did was our solemnization outfit. we designed our own outfit and send the designs to my sister in law to get the outfit tailored. and the tailor fees only costed us not more than rm200 for both mine and his. but, the fabric for bride and sampin for groom both already bought from bandung and terengganu few years ago. so roughly we prepared only the accessories when we were doing the intensive 1.5 month preparations in malaysia.

2) settle wedding course and all documentation. rm160 for 2 days course (for both bride n groom) documentations were free. as living in selangor, i downloaded and printed the form from JAIS's website. for my groom, he went to pejabat agama negeri sembilan for the forms. of course there was travel costs too. settle the docs asap. bride cant do anything unless groom finished getting the last stamp on the form from the imam kawasan. sijil kebenaran kahwin if im not mistaken. we did this during our intensive 1.5 prep.

3) book your date with the imam/tok kadi... nowadays imam are busy with a lot of solemnization to make. so grab your chance while still can. hehehe... i myself had my imam busy with 3 solemnizations on the same day at my place. and he was an hour late for our solemnization.

4) get your hiv test done. go to government and pay rm1 or 2. result came out immediately. or may i be mistaken? >.<

5) Mas kahwin. groom prepare according to state of event. in selangor its rm300. but my groom combined mas kahwin with my duit hadiah hantaran. i received no cash money nor pay cheque on my hantaran tray, but some dinar emas instead.

6) we did not have a lot of  'hantaran'. 5 by 5 will do just fine. but the night before the solemnization, my neighbor insisted me to give another tray of sirih junjung which made it 6-5. basically, most the gifts for hantaran were bought by my friend when she went euro tripping and luckily she helped us buying some from shopping village. same did by my sis in law who was doing a study trip in japan. so yay us! and we decor-ed them on by our own.

7) hand bouquet. by my own touch. all costs for hantaran deco(bride and groom) and hand bouquet approximately +-rm200.

8) reception outfit. I wanted a beautiful modern dress but my mom wanted some traditional touch to it. the songket was the cheapest and we chose the most beautiful color for our songket. rental sponsored by my MIL. from kusha wedding planner

9) dais. simple. as long as we can sit and take photos. hehhehe. rm+2000 together with meja makan beradab and decors.

10) videographer and photographer. by our own family members on my side. and sponsored by my brother in law on the groom side. on top of that, our photosession ends at 3am in the morning.

11) food and event settled by my parents. venue was at home.

12) door gifts. wooden scoops ordered direct from sabah.  and some delicacies for vvips. stickers and paper bags for packaging, by my sister in law

13) invitation card. sponsored by parents

14) makeup (day) sponsored by my MUA. my SIL's friend. make up (night), yours truly

15) my wedding cake sponsored by my friend's mom who has a cake business

16) henna, by my lovely sisters.

stay tuned for volume 2 (hint: reception on the groom side)
